Wordpress 2.2.3 Security Update
September 8, 2007
Wordpress is one of the blogging platform’s that we’ve all come to know and love so well. I’m sure you depend on it as much as I do for your blogging needs, and so every once in a while even Wordpress needs some tender love and care. The Wordpress team has just announced version 2.2.3 - a security upgrade that is imperative for you to install at the earliest.
Thankfully, this isn’t a complete overhaul of the system and only a select number of files that do not affect your database will be upgraded. No need to panic folks - This upgrade is a piece of cake with the Wordpress Automatic Update Plugin. I’ve used this for the last update that was released, and successfully upgraded to version 2.2.3 in about 2 minutes using the automatic setup.
As usual take the appropriate steps to back your data up before attempting any upgrade. I’ve covered how to do this automatically, with no extra load on your hosting server in my post - Get a Butler for Your Blog. I assure you your data will be safe, and the upgrade will be painless if you follow these simple steps.
Hope you have a safe, secure, and painless update. Let me know if you run into problems, and I’ll do my best to help you out ![]()
