Is Your Blog Running You?

Figuratively speaking of course folks. Recently, I’ve just moved into a nicer condo and am in the process of setting up my home office. As I write this, I’m recovering from all sorts of aches, bruises and scrapes - all of which have seriously affected my ability to come up with unique internet marketing ideas.

So why am I writing this post? No, I don’t mean to waste your time, because time, is the most precious thing you have. In my industry of Search Engine Optimization, I often hear of people that like showing off the money they’ve made from a single contract job, although you rarely hear how much time they invested in the job itself.

My point is that time is a valuable commodity, and even more so than money. Knowledge ranks a close second in my opinion, because it takes time to gain valuable knowledge. As bloggers, we often feel pressured to write posts on a frequent basis, almost like being tied to a ‘blogging leash’ of sorts.

Here’s my take on it : Don’ t be a slave to your blog, be its master. You’re trying your very best to provide valuable and insightful content to your readers, so there’s little reason they’ll turn away to the next best thing. If you disagree with me, just ask yourself, would you switch your favourite newspaper for another brand? Take the time to provide value, not the time to produce a volume of posts that mean very little to your readers - they’re extremely smart and will catch on immediately. Instead, focus on your core strengths, build your blogging strategy, and sail along above the ebb and tide of the blogosphere with ease :)

This is an excellent post Dev, and one that I’m guilty of. Although I wouldn’t say the content is bad, I do always try to write a post a day. I believe I have enough knowledge to get away with that, but could I provide better info if I spaced them out a bit and left room for more though? probably.

      Something to consider, thanks.
