Kontera ContentLink Review

Date August 7, 2007

I’ve just finished installing Kontera ContentLink on this blog - And I have to say, the installation was a breeze :D . Kontera ContentLink is the market leader in contextual advertising based on in-post keywords, which show up a double-underlined links within your posts.

When users hover over the keywords a contextually relevant ad is displayed, which the publisher can then gain revenue from if the ad is clicked. Recently, Kontera has relaxed its page view requirements for publishers, and now young blogs like mine can join with the help of a referral from someone like John Chow.

making money online is all about experimenting with different monetization schemes, and learning as you go. I’m not looking to make Daily Moolah my main cash cow - I’ve got affiliate marketing to do that, and so the inclusion of Kontera serves as a test for user behaviour after it has been enabled.

Kontera representatives approved my application within 3 days time, and the ads went live within minutes of implementing the code supplied in the email I received. The best way to implement Kontera for proper tracking and optimization (which can take up to two 2 weeks) is to include the ad code before the [/body] tag in your Wordpress theme’s ‘footer.php’ file.

I’m interested in knowing how you as a reader feels about the in-post advertisements by Kontera. Effective advertising is all about striking the right balance between quality content and moderated advertising, so your readers still maintain an aspect of usability on your blog.

Cheers! :)

Kontera sounds like a good idea. How does the payout work? I have tried other adverts that pay low eCPM. Is itworth all the underlining in your posts?

also, i noticed if you hover the mouseover them, they go away if you do not click. This makes your site like traditionally nice again.

      Maybe im justold fashion.

Hey Richard - I’ve just implemented it so I’m still in the process of learning all about Kontera. I’m glad you don’t find the ads intrusive.
